Nine Days: A New Dope Film about Souls & The Mediation of Life through TV

When asked to survey my relationship with screens, I was not expecting for a clear deliberation, but received on later in the week. This past Thursday, I watched the new film, Nine Days. It just came off of a Sundance premiere, so I was very excited to dive in. It is about a reclusive man that conducts a series of interviews with human souls for a chance to be born. After he has chosen the souls to be born, he gets to watch all of their lives unfold through their POV on numerous amounts of TV’s that all run at the same time. It’s a really interesting and thought-provoking film about the surveillance and survey of life through the mediation of television, very fitting for the dense questions we are going to deconstruct this week.

Check out this BTS video from this film. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hdqp3hnDp-o
