Schitt's Creek's emotional finale

Does anyone here follow Schitt's Creek? I'm a big fan of the show and this week I saw an overwhelming amount of online support for it as the series reached its end. I think it definitely updated the sitcom formula to more contemporary and progressive themes and "situations", so I'm curious to see what Eugene and Dan Levy's next project will be and how the success of Schitt's Creek will affect that.

  1. I haven't yet made it to the end but I have been rewatching Schitt's Creek from the start with my partner who has never seen the show. It's been nice to rewatch such a smart, gentle show again and funny to do so during mass rewatches of The Sopranos. It's also been a fascinating run watching public programming (produced and released by the CBC in Canada) gain such popularity in the US. I remember living in Canada when it first aired and the usual eye roll it received from many national audiences, a position which has been totally replaced by fierce ownership of the show by many Canadians (speaking of "global" TV)! I'm curious about the extent to which non-Canadian audiences pick up on its culturally-specific sensibilities?
